The Southern Illinois Flute Choir & SIU Flute Studio, under direction of assistant conductor Joseph Ryker, will play a concert Friday, April 15, 7:30 p.m. at the Morthland College’s Whitfield Hall, 401 W. Main, West Frankfort.
The ensemble includes the complete range of flute voices: contrabass, bass, alto, C flute, and piccolo. The upcoming concert works include “L’Arlesienne, No. 2” by Georges Bizet, “Sails, Winds, and Echoes” by Crawford Gates, “Malaguena” by Ernesto Lecuona, and “Tropical Flute Punch” by Jonathan Cohen.
The concert is offered free of charge.
